Painting Tutor Alexandra Ghimisi

Alexandra Ghimisi is a Romanian-born professional fine artist based in Nottinghamshire, UK. She graduated from the National University of Arts Bucharest in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Decorative Arts, developing a strong foundation in visual arts, composition and design.

Before dedicating herself fully to her fine-art practice, Alexandra worked for almost ten years as an interior designer, running her own design business between 2008 and 2016. This experience continues to influence her understanding of colour, composition, space and visual harmony.

Since relocating to the UK in 2016, Alexandra has developed an active professional art career, exhibiting nationally and internationally. Her recent achievements include Wild Card Winner of the TV show Sky Landscape Artist of the Year 2026. She is a Fellow of the Nottingham Society of Artists, a member of the Visual Artists Association and National Acrylic Painters’ Association, and an active member of MONDIAL ART ACADEMIA in France. Her work has been exhibited during the London Biennale and at prestigious venues including Mall Galleries and Saatchi Gallery in London.

Alexandra also collaborates with brand designers and creative businesses on bespoke art projects. One recent commission involved creating an original artwork inspired by the landscape of Spain’s Ribera del Duero region, developed for the Pieza wine label.

Alongside her studio practice, Alexandra has more than ten years’ experience teaching adult learners, sharing her knowledge of painting techniques and encouraging creative confidence. She is committed to developing her own practice while contributing actively to the wider artistic community.
